Nicholas Kelley is the assistant project director for the CIDRAP Comprehensive Influenza Vaccine Initiative (CCIVI) and is a PhD candidate in environmental health at the University of Minnesota's School of Public Health. He received an MSPH in environmental health in 2008 from the University of Minnesota. His master's work focused on the public health implications of an influenza pandemic disrupting the coal supply chain, which is the primary fuel source for electrical generation.

He has been employed as a research assistant at CIDRAP since 2006, and his current research focus is on influenza vaccine campaigns. He is a member of the University of Minnesota's Medical Reserve Corp and actively involved in local pandemic planning and response activities.
